GUIDED FISHING TRIPS
Covid-19 & the 2020 Guiding Season
I have made the difficult decision to suspend our guiding operations for the 2020 season
due to the small size of our business and the many Covid Regulations in place.
This does not mean I can't guide you by phone to the right flies for the right spot
and time of your fishing trip.
You can view all our flies and tackle online 365 days a year 24-7
from the comfort and safety of your internet device.
Click on the "Local Pickup" button or call in an order to arrange a 24-7 pick up
from one of our digital combinations on our Fly Shop Deck.
Not sure what's working? Let us pick out a bakers dozen for your destination as well as any tippet, leaders or other tackle you may need.
Our shop is open 8am-noon, Monday - Saturday outside on the south deck, then we are taking off our masks and continuing our Covid Vacation.
Call any time, I'll answer even on the river, (unless I'm out of range).
Fishing Guides for the Gunnison River and surrounding area.
Celebrate 26 years with Almont Anglers!
Whether it's your first time fly fishing for trout, or you have been fishing for a lifetime. Let us customize a trip for you and your friends, family or group. Gunnison County ranges in elevation between 6,000' - 13,000' and has over 1,000 miles of streams and rivers. Our experienced guides enjoy teaching beginners as well as lining the boat up just right for the experts.
Gunnison River Float Trips
The Gunnison River starts here on the property in front of Cabin # 8, the confluence of the East and Taylor Rivers.
So it's only natural that many of our 1/2 Day and Full Day Trips launch here at the Fly Shop, or further down river.
We guide our wade trips on several rivers and stream in Gunnison County depending on flows, hatches and where we think fishing is the best. If you have a few days, we would love to give you a tour.
Wading is the best way to learn how to fly fish at a slower pace than floating.
Fly Fishing 101
This is the Nuts and Bolts to get you ready for a wade or float trip.
Learn different casts, reading the water, matching the hatch with proper fly selection, trout behavior, fishing tactics and more.
A great 2 hours for someone interested in the art of fly fishing, or a fun activity for the whole family!
All trips include flies, rods, reels, waders & boots.
A deli lunch is included on full day trips.
